If one doesn’t meet your fancy, there are dozens more – just do a quick Google search and you’re bound to find another perfect spot within minutes. Also, please keep in mind to respect each beach as you would your own. Keep it clean!
1. Al Mamzar Beach Park
Al Mamzar is a great spot on the coast that offers more than just an amazing vista. The park itself has plenty of amenities and activities to keep you busy for hours on end. From the water park, boardwalk, and children’s play areas; this beach has something for everyone.
2. The Beach at JBR
Another great option for the family. While it isn’t the biggest beach in Dubai, there are still plenty of amenities nearby including cafes, restaurants, and even a public swimming pool. There is also the iconic Burj Al Arab just steps away should you feel like checking out the upper decks.
3. Jumeirah Open Beach
Jumeirah Open Beach is a protected beach in the middle of the city, making it a favorite among locals and ideal for learning how to surf or skimboarding. There are also lifeguards on staff should you need assistance!
4. Kite Beach
A local favorite, Kite Beach is ideal for those looking to catch some waves. While you can do more than just go on a beach stroll here, the place itself offers plenty of surfing and skimboarding opportunities throughout the year. You can even rent out equipment (if you don’t have your own). There are also cafes and restaurants nearby if you want to grab a bite before heading home.
5. Sunset Beach
Yet another great beach for families. If swimming isn’t your thing, you can always put down the towel and head over to one of the many cafes nearby for dinner or drinks. While you are there, be sure to check out some of the events that take place here on the weekends (music mostly).
6. Mercato Beach
If you are a book lover then Mercato Beach is best for you. This beach has a library from where you can pick up a book and read it while enjoying the beautiful sight of the sea. It’s a free public beach located along Jumeirah Beach road.
7. Marina Beach
Marina Beach is another local favorite that offers plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars to enjoy after spending time in the sun. The whole area has been transformed over the years from an old fishing port into one of the most popular spots in town. It is relatively small, but still has all of the amenities you need for a great day out with friends (or family).
8. Al Sufouh Beach
This beach has gained popularity over the last few years as Dubai’s population continues to grow. You can enjoy some time on this beach in a relaxing environment with almost no one in sight! The park itself is fairly new and offers a few restaurants in case you forget to pack your own lunch.
What Is The Difference Between Public & Private Beaches in Dubai?
There is a pretty big difference between public and private beaches in Dubai. The former is free to enter (it varies by the beach, though) while the latter requires you to rent out their equipment or opt for one of their activities. This does not always mean they are better than the free options (we actually like some of the lesser-known beaches better), but it is definitely worth paying for quality. You should also expect to be able to find a nice restaurant or cafe fairly easily if you want to grab a drink or something to eat.
