Prof. Dr. med D. Krieger Neurologist Dubai UAE – Profile of Prof. Dr. med D. Krieger Neurologist at German Neuroscience Center, Dubai Healthcare City
Prof. Dr. med D. Krieger Neurologist
Professor Dr. med. Krieger gained experience and global perspective pursuing an academic career as clinician researcher and teacher in the entire field of Neurology. After his residency training, medical doctorate and postdoctoral thesis in Heidelberg and Aachen Germany, Professor Krieger moved to the United States in 1996 enacting neurological critical care at the University of Texas at Houston, Texas and becoming a world renowned stroke researcher at the Cleveland Clinic at Cleveland, Ohio.
Since 2008 he joined the faculty at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and established a comprehensive stroke treatment program. In the course of his tenure in Copenhagen he published a book on clinical recovery after brain injury reviewing the processes involved in cognitive and physical rehabilitation after stroke. In total he has authored more than 150 peer reviewed scientific contributions.
Professor Krieger’s main interests involve stroke prevention, rehabilitation and acute stroke interventions. He also manages a clinic for patients requesting second opinions regarding their diagnosis at the National Hospital in Copenhagen, Denmark. Other interests include headaches, neuro inflammatory conditions, cognitive complaints and sudden loss of consciousness.
Professor Krieger’s competences include neurophysiological methods (EEG, evoked potentials, nerve conduction and electromyography) and ultrasound techniques. His longstanding clinical experience in the field of neurology makes him just as qualified in all important other neurological conditions, including:
– Multiple Sclerosis
– Neuromuscular diseases
– Behavioral health
– Sleep disorders
– Spine health
– Neurological Restoration
Professor Krieger’s tenet to identify the problem and to find the palpable treatment is facilitated by his extensive international experience and contacts in the neuroscience field.

Neurologists in Dubai
A neurologist is a doctor that specializes in diagnosing and treating disorders of the nervous system. This includes the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves, and includes a wide variety of conditions that affect anything from motor functioning to cognitive skills. Generally, a neurologist will begin treating a patient only after that patient is referred there by another doctor, most commonly a general practitioner or internal medicine physician.
Once the patient has been referred, the neurologist will take a complete medical history and perform an evaluation of the patient’s nervous system. This will include testing the patient’s reflexes, coordination, gait, sensory capabilities, motor skills, cranial nerves, and cognitive function. The medical history can help doctors determine whether or not the patient’s family history includes any neurological diseases or conditions.
Neurologists treat many different conditions. Neurologist in Dubai range from common conditions such as headaches, infections, and sleep disorders to more serious conditions, including epilepsy, strokes, dementia, seizures, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, neuromuscular disorders, and head trauma. The treatment that these doctors provide varies based on the particular condition. Neurologist in Dubai may refer the patient to a different specialist, prescribe medications, or recommend and assist with a surgical procedure. They may also refer the patient to a physical therapist, which can help improve motor skills, coordination, and reflexes.
In addition to treating a variety of medical conditions, a neurologist is also frequently asked to evaluate unresponsive patients who are on life support. In this situation, the doctor will examine the patient for the purpose of confirming whether or not the patient’s brain has ceased functioning.
Although some neurologists work with all types of neurological disorders, there are others who specialize in certain parts of the nervous system, as well as those who specialize in performing specific procedures. For example, a clinical neurophysiologist specializes in using electrodiagnostic techniques to diagnose certain neurological disorders.
Another example of a specialty within the field is neurosurgery, which combines the study of neurology with surgical training. Neurosurgeons generally perform surgeries to treat neurological disorders after a general neurologist makes a diagnosis and determines that such surgery is necessary.
Because of the wide variety of duties that neurologists have, these doctors generally spend parts of each day examining new patients, meeting with referring physicians, and visiting with other patients to follow up on their treatment and evaluate their progress. They also often work “on-call,” meaning they can be called in at any time of the day or night to attend to emergency situations. As a result, these doctors often work long, irregular hours. This is especially true for doctors who have just started their careers.
Neurology is a branch of medical science that deals with the nervous system disorders. Specifically, this study deals well with diagnosis and treatment of the diseases that involve the peripheral, central, and autonomic nervous systems.
Neurologists, the physicians specialized in this science, are well trained in investigating, diagnosing, and treating neurological disorders. There are a lot of them when you search for them on the Internet. This means that there are also lots of people today who seek their help to correct these kinds of disorders. There are lots of neurological disorders experienced by some people today. Among these disorders are Alzheimer’s, Aphasia, Bell’s Palsy, cerebrovascular disease, epilepsy, schizophrenia, and many more. These are just some of the diseases treated by neurologists.
Neurologists play a very significant role in the lives of the people who experience such disorders. A very common neurological disorder now is schizophrenia. We will examine this disorder closely so we may be able to understand neurology fully. You can say that someone is suffering from schizophrenia if he experiences auditory hallucinations, like he can hear voices speaking to him. Another thing is the delusion where one experiences false beliefs. These are the common symptoms of people with schizophrenia, those having psychotic symptoms. Symptoms that are highly disruptive includes disturbance in the processing of information and impaired cognition. Though this is the less dramatic of symptoms, it can really cause trouble. Yes, it is true that having this kind of disorder could be a hassle and very tiring. Aside from this, people suffering from this may have lower rates of independent living, marriage, and employment when you compare it with other individuals who are not schizophrenic. The best thing a family member can do with the person suffering from it is to bring him or her to a neurologist so that he can be examined thoroughly.
