Introduction to Crime Scene Clean Up

On the arrival at a property where a death has occurred, especially after a vicious death, important tasks are performed by the policemen, firemen and CSI investigators. But as a general statute, these civil servants do not clean up the mess. It is the responsibility of the victim’s family to mop up after the violent death of their member. Until recent times, just a few companies offered this kind of service, so, most of the time, the family still ended up doing the work. This is a service that is expensive. Crime Scene clean up service begins at approximately $600 per hour. And, actually, most people are willing to pay more. Understanding Your Trigger Finger

A trigger finger or thumb is a common painful condition which causes the fingers or thumb to lock in a bent position. Tendons that help bend the fingers slide through a protective covering known as the tendon sheath. The main problem in a trigger finger, stems from either the opening of the sheath becoming smaller, or the tendon itself becoming thickened, so that it can no longer slip smoothly through the tendon sheath. When trying to straighten the affected finger, the inflammed portion of the tendon momentarily gets stuck at the mouth of the tendon sheath, then pops as the tendon eventually makes its way through this tight area. This is what causes the “triggering”. In severe cases, the “stuck” finger can only be straightened with the help from the other hand. Who Gets Trigger Finger? Trigger fingers tend to be more common in women than men, typically affecting those between 40 to 60 years of age. They are also more commonly associated with certain medical conditions: • Rheumatoid arthritis • Diabetes mellitus • Gout How is it Treated? Mild …

Personal Health Records Simplified

Health record management is a complex and privacy-protected part of our lives that begs for simplicity and relevancy. Personal health record management aficionados subscribe to the notion that we should each invade a cloud site or create a data base management system that parallels and perhaps supersedes the prerogatives of record keeping of health care providers themselves. The dilemma of health record management is multifaceted. It is dominated by a perspective that we should maintain records of our own medical history. However, although there is a presumption of ownership of our own medical information, access to propriety information may not be available under all circumstances. Often, physicians and health care administrators may have inserted sensitive comments and evaluative information into personal medical records that may be held as proprietary to the corporate entity for which they work and therefore, not available to the patient or family member. The outcome of this inability to retrieve parallel personal information creates an incomplete view of our medical status and history. The personal health record industry arises from the foibles of medical mishaps, misinformation, …

The Three Advantages of a Walk in Clinic

A walk in clinic offers an alternative to hospital emergency rooms for less serious injuries and illnesses. However, many people are still not aware of this option and its advantages. Urgent care does not require an appointment, so services are provided at a quicker and more flexible pace. People who are uninsured may find this health care facility to be more affordable than other options. A Clinic for Common Injuries According to Shawn Evans, MD, an emergency medical physician, it’s common to see people go to the ER for after-hours care on minor injuries without realizing there is another option available. A walk-in clinic is available for injuries that need immediate care but are not considered serious enough to warrant a visit to the emergency room. Most injuries that are treated at an urgent care center include minor burns, minor fractures, falls, accidents, infections, sprains, cuts, and common illnesses such as a cold or flu. Many clinics also provide diagnostic services that require the use of X-rays, and lab tests. A person should go to the emergency room or call …

Massage Therapist Saves a Life!

We all know massage offers great benefits to clients, everything from physical to emotional wellbeing, but I was as surprised as the doctor, when a massage turned out to be a lifesaver. While giving my athletic firefighter husband a relaxing massage, I found a melanoma on the bottom arch of his right foot, the last place you would expect to find it. I began my career in massage therapy 15 years ago after many years working as a para-medical professional in mainstream and complementary medicine. As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for 19 years, I have performed CPR and other lifesaving maneuvers in my volunteer career. Imagine my surprise when my husband's dermatologist told him that I saved his life when I spotted something strange on his foot. The site was actually a four year old fire ant that had healed, but changed suddenly. The discovery led to several surgeries and precautionary procedures to ensure that the 1mm thick melanoma has not spread to the lymphatic system. I, as many massage therapists and practitioners, take continuing education classes to keep …

Antidepressants – Research Study

Finally, the truth is revealed about antidepressants. Lead researcher, Professor Irving Kirsch from the Psychology department at the University of Hull, said, “The difference in improvement between patients taking placebos and patients taking antidepressants is not very great. This means that depressed people can improve without chemical treatments. Given these results, there seems little reason to prescribe antidepressant medication to any but the most severely depressed patients, unless treatments have failed to provide a benefit. This study raises serious issues that need to be addressed surrounding drug licensing and how drug trial data is reported.” The University of Hull is located in the City of Hull situated in East Yorkshire, UK. The University is a progressive university featuring world-class teaching and research. Their teaching skills are highly rated in national quality assessments and is of international acclaim in many fields, the quality of which informs their teaching at all levels. The research analysis showed that in comparison to placebo effects, antidepressants do not have clinically significant effects in mildly depressed people or in most people, who suffer from very severe …

Save Your Back During Snow Season

Brrrr! “Baby, it’s cold outside”! Now that winter is here, snowfall is certainly in the Mid-Atlantic forecast. Many people take on the white stuff without adequate caution and end up bending, twisting, and lifting heavy weight. Improper biomechanics while shoveling and snowblowing can result in back pain, shoulder pain, and other injuries that lead to muscle strains and sprains and even herniated disks. Here are a few guidelines to help you alleviate undue stress on your spine during snowy weather. Stretch and Warm up! Most individuals who are about to tackle snow removal do not properly prepare their muscles beforehand. Just as you warm up for a workout or a run, appropriate stretching before shoveling snow reduces your chance of injury. Start by stretching your hamstrings, quadriceps (upper thigh muscles), calves, groin, and buttocks. A chiropractor or fitness trainer can provide a list of suitable stretches, and directions for doing them properly are typically shown online. Hold each stretch for 15 seconds. Ten minutes of stretching and warming up is recommended. According to a report released by the US Surgeon …

Internal X Ray Vision – What Is It? How Is It Used In Intuitive Healing, Medical Intuitive Diagnosis

Superman had it!, X-ray vision, the ability to see through walls (which are just a dense gathering of energy that creates its form). In today’s world, internal x-ray vision is a reality and not a cartoon myth. The ability to visualize energy fields through the mind’s eye is called clairvoyance. The actual ability to perceive a physical body’s exterior energy field (called an aura) or internal bimolecular energy fields is called HSP (Higher Sensory Perception) internal vision by Barbara Brennan author of “Hands of Light.” By directing your brain to focus at a higher vibrational frequency level one can see the bimolecular energy formation of cells, tissue, bones, organs and other subtle bioenergy systems (example: the nervous system with neural pathways and nerve damage or electromagnetic misfiring disorders) inside of the human body at whatever depth or resolution they choose. Dr. Mehmet Oz stated on Oprah, “everything is pure energy, you are a mass of vibrating frequencies gathered into the physical form that you call your body.” How do we access the information stored within our energy fields? Traditional medicine …
