A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (UK), Dr Salah also holds a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery through the University of Strasbourg, France. Before joining Mediclinic Welcare Hospital, Dr Salah practiced as a consultant surgeon at Medicare Centre in Dubai. Prior to this he served as Dubai Hospital’s senior specialist surgeon and deputy head of surgery for five years, and subsequently as specialist general surgeon at Rashid Hospital, Dubai. Dr Salah is well versed in minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures, endocrine operations (conventional and video assisted), breast surgery, visceral surgery (gastro intestinal and colorectal operations), laparoscopic hernia repair, bile duct reconstruction operations, anorectal procedures, salivary gland surgery, tumour and emergency procedures, among other surgeries. He has served as a Senior Lecturer at Dubai Medical College, and has contributed to a number of international medical publications. He is vice president of the GCC Hernia Society and is a lifelong member of the Asia Pacific Hernia Society.
